Travel Information

Provence, France

Location

We will be celebrating our wedding weekend in Provence, South of France, with our home base in the town of St.-Rémy-de-Provence. Our events will take place at Chateau d’Estoublon, as well as a hidden quarry location nearby. To simplify transportation, we will provide a shuttle service to all wedding weekend events. The shuttles will run from three hotels all located in or near St.-Rémy (see “Accommodations” section below for more information).

Provence is quintessentially pastoral and sun-soaked, with vineyards and olive groves, winding country roads, and postcard-perfect villages framed by cypress trees and stone farmhouses. September is an especially beautiful time to visit, with warm days, golden light (famously captured in many of Vincent van Gogh’s most known works), and a relaxed end-of-summer pace that’s ideal for lingering lunches and exploration. Our wedding events will be set within a spectacular hilltop area amongst the Alpilles Mountains known for dramatic limestone landscapes and sweeping views.

Expect a setting that feels both romantic and rustic, with plenty to enjoy before and after the festivities.

Transportation

Please consider flying into one of three international airports in the region (listed below), which all provide connectivity to the city of Saint-Rémy via train or car. For those taking a train, Avignon (which is a short car ride from Saint-Rémy) will function and the main arrival hub. For guests who prefer more flexibility, or want to explore the region beyond Saint-Rémy, we recommend renting a car. This can be arranged at the airport upon arrival, or in the town of Avignon for those arriving by train.

MARSEILLE

The closest airport to St. Remy is Marseille International Airport, about an hour’s drive away. This is the most convenient option, with daily non-stop flights from across Europe.

NICE

For those flying into Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, Saint-Rémy is roughly a three-hour drive passing through the iconic towns of Antibes, Cannes, St. Tropez, and Aix-en-Provence. Renting a car is the easiest way to reach St. Remy, though trains and private transfers are also possible.

PARIS

If arriving at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, there is a 2-hour-40-minute express train to Avignon and then a short taxi to St. Remy. You can also take an extended roadtrip seven hours through the French countryside from wine regions to Lyon all the way to St. Remy.

Accommodations

We recommend staying in or near St.-Rémy-de-Provence, which is a roughly 15-minute drive to the venues and will be our main “home base” throughout the wedding weekend. St.-Rémy is a charming town with many small hotels, guesthouses, and rentals (rather than one large resort), so we suggest choosing the option that best fits your budget and style.

Please note that St.-Rémy is a small town with limited inventory, so we strongly recommend booking accommodations as soon as possible to find the best fit for your preferred price range and location. Staying in town offers easy access to shops, restaurants, and markets, while countryside stays can be peaceful and scenic.

Because the area is quite spread out, transportation can be challenging, and taxis/ride-shares may not be readily available. We will be arranging shuttles from the three locations listed below. When booking, please consider easy access to one of these pickup points. We currently have a limited number of rooms reserved at these three locations available on a first-come, first-served basis—please reach out to us directly if you’re interested.
